Product description

The small miner wears the traditional Saxonian uniform. You can decorate him solo or with an angel with candles order number 630.1/2 (rosé), 630.2/2 (antique blue) or 630.3/2 (antique white).

For the candle holders candles are included. We suggest to NOT light the candles, but only use them as decoration. Risk of fire!

Historical Background

In former times as the miner coldn't see the sun in the winter months, light as a symbol of life was very important. To light the way to the mine the families put candles in the windows.

This tradition is still alive today in the Ore Mountains: For every child a figure is placed in the windows, an angel for a girl, a miner for a boy.
