Discover the world of our manufactory.

Papier Mache - what is that?

The well-known material papier mâché was used for the first time in the production of figures at the end of the 18th century. The term originating from France actually means "shredded paper" and was used as a generic term for numerous blends of paper, water, glue and other additives. Many companies have developed their own recipe - as does the company MAROLIN®.

What does our manufactory offer you?

The MAROLIN® mass is not only used to create the form-fitting nativity figures in the old style, but also numerous profane figures and depictions, such as Easter rabbitsSanta Clausanimals or traditional figures.

Our latest creations in the MAROLIN® papier-mâché range include lampshades and slate-look vessels. Our home, the Thuringian Slate Mountains, and one of the main components of our mass, the shale, was the inspiration for the color design.

Since the beginning of the 1970s, MAROLIN® has expanded its product range with plastic nativity figuresknights and play animals. The environmentally friendly material polyethylene contains no plasticizers. The surfaces of the figures are painted with solvent-free paints.

In 2011 MAROLIN® took up the production of traditional christmas glass ornaments from the 1920s and 1930s. More than one hundred different ornaments are painted in the company and finally covered with a fine patina that gives them a nostalgic look.

The wide range of MAROLIN® will certainly have something for you. Anyone who values traditional craftsmanship and attaches importance to the fact that the products are manufactured one hundred percent in Germany is in the right place with MAROLIN®.
