In early Christian times, St. Lucia secretly brought food to the Christians who had to live in hiding because of persecution. Mainly in the Scandinavian countries is St. Lucia's Day celebrated on Dec, 13th. Then the eldest daughter of the family is equipped with a white robe, a red belt and the candle wreath on the head.
